Hey, I’m originally from England but I’ve lived in New Zealand for almost 10 years now. I’ve recently started learning Japanese, but I’d really like to be able to practise with someone to help build my confidence and improve my understanding of the spoken language (that’s the part I’m finding hardest).
I’m still a near-beginner, learning hiragana at the moment along with some words, phrases, and short sentences. I’d also love to share my language and help others learn English.
I like to keep fit, run a little, play golf, and I love movies, coffee, and food.

Hello, my name is Hilarie, I'm 20 years old and I live in Auckland, New Zealand. My native language is English. I like to write, listen to music, and go for walks, sometimes all at the same time. My mother tongue is Mandarin Chinese. I was born and raised in China, so I’m very familiar with the language and culture. I hold both an undergraduate and a master’s degree, and I’ve worked as a teacher in China. I also have a Chinese Teacher Qualification Certificate and experience teaching Mandarin to English speakers. I can teach patiently and skillfully, and I even know a bit of Chinese calligraphy. No matter your current level of Chinese, you’re welcome, so don’t worry!
I’m currently living in New Zealand. I can speak English, but I’m not yet fluent enough to chat smoothly with locals. My learning goal is to improve my speaking and listening skills, so it would be great if you’re familiar with New Zealand culture.
My hobbies include playing badminton, hiking, watching movies, reading, traveling, and learning about other cultures.
I’d prefer to have voice calls at early stage, and if we feel comfortable, we can arrange to meet face-to-face to learn languages if possible. I’m thinking about 1 hour once a week, but I’m open to other ideas.

독일어Jmenuji se Ondřej Mráz a jsem student historie na Vysoké škole v české republice v Plzni. Je mi 24 let. Německý jazyk relativně umím, v tuto chvíli nemám potřebu se dále učit v německém jazyku, ale jsem tomu otevřen. Co se týče anglického jazyka, něco umím. Ale nejsem schopen se rozmluvit. Proto jsem přes 2 měsíce na Novém Zélandu, a budu zde dalších 10 měsíců. Byl bych rád, kdybych mohl s někým procvičovat angličtinu.
Rád cestuji do hor či na moře, mám rád historii, čtení knih nebo luštění, taky rád plavu. Hledám parťáka kdo by mě zdokonalil v Angličtině, případně Němčině. Za to mohu pomoci s českým jazykem. Taky bych rád poznal nové lidi a novou kulturu a jsem otevřen dalším jazykům.
Právě jsem dostal nápad co dát dohromady skupinku několika lidí co se chtějí naučit různé jazyky, tak aby měl každý ze skupinky možnost naučit se co chce. Dám příklad já se chci naučit Angličtinu, Angličan se chce naučit Ruštinu a Ukrajinec se chce naučit Češtinu. Když by se taková skupinka dala dohromady, každý dostane co chce. Může se přidat kdokoli.
Rozhodl jsem se pro novou skupinu. Rád bych to zkusil znova. A posílám vzkaz pro všechny současné i bývalé ve skupině každý kdo se chce připojit, ať mi pošle smajlíka do whatsappu. Týká se to i všech nových.
