Hi. My name is Raphael and I moved to Victoria BC at the beginning of this year (2022). I would mainly like to improve my Japanese language as I lived there for a while in 2015 but I sadly couldn't take classes at the time. I would also like to get better at spanish. I speak it but I'm loosing it for not practicing. My English level is IELTS 7.5 ov. and my spanish level would be decent intermediate/advanced. Hi! After being in Vancouver my whole adult life, I've been living in Victoria for the past couple of years - my partner got a job at the University here, and I've been looking after our two young children and doing contract work (a little bit of writing, plus consulting for non-profits and artists organizations) when I can. I've been studying Japanese (mostly for reading knowledge) on my own for a little over two years - I'm hoping to do archival research in Japan once travel is possible again. I have experience teaching English at the university level, so I'm looking forward to helping with your English, too! I have decent reading knowledge of French - my father is bilingual, and my paternal grandparents were francophone, but growing up on the west coast I very rarely had opportunities to speak. I'd love opportunities to practice!

Hi, I'm Julian. I live in the beautiful city of Victoria, British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. I've been studying Japanese for almost two years now, and love the language and the culture. I'm really interested in Japanese art, spirituality and history, and love cooking a lot of different Japanese food. I often walk in nature, in the park and by the ocean near my apartment, and enjoy taking pictures along the way.
