I'm a retired teacher of English to Speakers of Other Languages at a Glasgow city centre college, living in Glasgow, mother of three and grandmother of two. I keep up my interest in languages by "meeting" some ex-students on Zoom once a week, going to a French class at Glasgow's Alliance Française and -attempting to ! -learn German from scratch. I enjoy swimming , trips to the GFT [Glasgow Film Theatre] and drinking coffee in one of our many local cafés.

Hi! I'm Sophia, an 18-year-old student living in Glasgow. I grew up speaking both English and Russian, so I'm happy to help with either language. I'm interested in languages, culture, travel, and meeting people from different backgrounds. At the moment, I'm mainly focusing on French and Mandarin. My French is around B2/C1 level, my Spanish is around A2/B1, and I've also started learning Mandarin, German, and Polish. I'd like to learn Arabic and British Sign Language in the future as well. I'm here to try to learn some new languages, my initial idea was Russian and Chinese, but as they say "knowledge takes no place" so I'm willing to learn as many languages as my mind and time allow me, while I help you with Spanish or English (I can also speak and write some Portuguese). Hi there! I'm from Hong Kong and currently residing in Scotland. I had had a long-term relationship with Taiwanese, so I'm fluent in Mandarin Chinese as if it were my native language. I love traveling and have been to Nepal🇳🇵(Himalaya!), India, Myanmar...etc. And lived in Australia for three years. Other hobbies are books, coffee, movies and comics.
