Hey! My name is Ira (pronounced as 'ee-ra'). I'm currently based in Manchester but occasionally travel back home to Ukraine. I can speak English at a decent level, but I'm always up for practicing it whenever possible. As my side project, I'm learning Japanese; for now, it's more of a travel-oriented kind of learning, but I hope I will continue doing it after my Japan trip. I also used to study Chinese for a few years, but I put it on hold temporarily. Happy to practice any of those languages and meet fun people along the way.

I am a retired editor and writer. My mother was born in Berlin, into a Jewish family. She came to England in 1937, but she never taught me to speak German. I have been going to German classes for the last eighteen months, but am struggling with speaking.
