Hello, my name is Mike. I live in a rather small country in Europe, Denmark. I am travelling to visit Japan next spring and therefore wish to learn some Japanese. I of course want to learn the basics for travelling, but I am also hoping to interact with the locals, either at the bar during the weekend, or in smaller, less touristy areas. I am essentially a beginner at Japanese. I know simple words through watching anime. I have also learned to read some hiragana, but I primarily want to practice spoken Japanese. A bit about myself: I am currently studying Software Engineering and will be visiting while working on my master's thesis. In my free time, I enjoy bouldering, cycling, and playing games with my friends. I also love spending time in nature, which is one of the main reasons I am excited to visit Japan (sadly Danish nature is boring). Danish is my native language, but I am fully capable of assisting with English at a basic to intermediate level. My English grammar might be a bit stronger than my Danish, as Danish grammar can get confusing.
