I went to Japan this year and loved it, but felt disrespectful for not being able to at least try to speak the language. Would like to go back in a couple of years with at least some knowledge of the language.

Hello there. How’s your day going? I currently moved to Calgary from Japan and I don’t know anyone here. I’d like to make friends but no one is just hanging out because it’s minus twenty degrees Celsius outside and freezing. So.. im hoping to find someone who I can talk to here🤭 I was a nurse in Japan for ten years and an assistant nurse in Sydney for a year in 2019. I worked at oncology department, cardiovascular department, dialysis and er. Nursing can be quite challenging sometimes but I find it’s also rewarding. I will be living in Tokyo from late April until late July 2024. I would be interested in doing a language exchange but my Japanese is beginner-level. My preferred method is to just enjoy the occasional day hiking (Saturday or Sunday) and chatting along the way or meeting for a beer or coffee. My expectations for learning Japanese are limited to the basics but I can help you improve your English. I am a retired engineer but I started teaching English as a hobby. I have taught in Canada, Spain, and Japan.
