설명

My dream for 2027: Finally do the French Camino de Santiago, starting in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port.

Why am I here? It's quite simple, really: I'd love to make new friends around the world and to keep current my other languages. I am seeking conversational practice mainly in Portuguese and Italian right now; German and French are next. Thanks!

Traveling Goals:
In 2026, I'll be in Guatemala in late February. In April, I'll return to Brazil for a trip from SP to Rio and, I hope, up to Fortaleza --mostly by bus. Later, I will also visit Iceland and Greenland (both for the very first time) in June. If you live in these countries/areas, that might be part of the reason I'm contacting you.
In 2027, I hope to visit Japan for the first time... and finally do the Camino de Santiago!

Language Exchange:
Right now, I am mostly interested in keeping my Portuguese conversational skills fluent. I'll be glad to help you with your conversation practice in English and/or Spanish. Also, if you'd like to try a free course online to improve your basic knowledge of English, send me a message.

Hobbies & Interests:
I am a semi-retired college professor. I love hiking, camping, and exploring nature in general. I also love to chat over some awesome beer. Traveling is my biggest passion --and with traveling comes learning!

Favorite Music:
Eclectic taste, from classic Chopin to Brazilian forró

Favorite Movies:
Too many to list but beginning with "Kill Bill" and "Malena"

Favorite TV Shows:
Among the top, "Six Feet Under" and "Breaking Bad"

Favorite Books:
No way to list them all but, again, I could begin the list with Juan Rulfo's "Pedro Páramo" and Clarice Lispector's "A Paixão Segundo G.H."

Favorite Quote:
"In the end, we retain from our studies only that which we practically apply."
—Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
